The Catholic Diocese of Armidale is the second largest Diocese geographically in New South Wales. It covers most of the New England area as well as parts of the North West region.
Within our boundaries are the major centres of Armidale, Tamworth, Gunnedah, Moree, Narrabri and Inverell and 13 other towns includng Barraba, Boggabri, Glen Innes, Guyra, Manilla, Mungindi, Quirindi, Tenterfield, Uralla, Walcha, Walgett, Warialda and Wee Waa.
There are twenty four schools within the Diocese, 19 Primary (K-6), 2 Central (K-10) and 3 Secondary schools (7-12). The Catholic Schools Office employs approximately 1,000 staff in a variety of roles.
The history and tradition of Catholic education gives us a proud heritage. Catholic Education forms part of the mission of the Church and is a shared responsibility and privilege. We welcome people to undertake this role who are willing to commit themselves to serving young people and their families and supporting the ethos of the Catholic school system.
Please note – If you are employed in the Armidale Diocese within six months (or two school terms) of ceasing employment with another Catholic Diocesan Employer or a Catholic Independent School, you may be eligible to have the balance of your accrued long service and sick leave entitlements transferred to the Armidale Diocese. Please note that sick leave entitlements can only be transferred within NSW and the ACT.
