Armidale Catholic Schools Congratulates 2024 HSC Achievers

Catholic school students across NSW celebrate HSC results with 26 students from 24 Catholic schools recognised for achieving 21 First in Course honours.

Danielle Cronin, Deputy CEO of Catholic Schools NSW, congratulated this year’s students and recognised the broad subject diversity in Catholic schools and their achievements. “It’s encouraging to see the First in Course Honours come from a broad range of subject areas and from so many schools. This underscores Catholic education’s aim to provide a holistic and high calibre education to students from all backgrounds and walks of life. Whatever students study in a Catholic school, and wherever they come from, they can be supported to realise their full potential.”

In 2024, Armidale Catholic Schools continued its strong focus on learning and growth for all students. Senior students have demonstrated a high level of dedication to their study and have shown great commitment to their individual learning goals.

O’Connor Catholic College student, Clancy McDermott was a Top Achiever placing 5th in the state for Primary Industries. Lily Croft, achieved 90 in Hospitality, continuing the tradition of Band 6 success in this subject at O’Connor. 80 students across the Diocese studied either a school based VET or TAFE based EVET course as part of their HSC in 2024. This included attainment of Certificate III and II in pathways such as Business Services, Construction, Hospitality, Primary Industries, Retail, Fitness, Financial Services and Information Technology.

A special acknowledgement goes to Hugo Boggia (O’Connor Catholic College) who earned 93 in Mathematics Extension 1 (Band E4) and 82 in Mathematics Extension 2 (Band E3, Notional Band 6). Hugo, a Year 10 student in O’Connor’s accelerated Mathematics program, has delivered remarkable results. Congratulations Hugo!
